Welcome to our latest weekly quarterback ratings (NFL QB Ratings). As with every week, we’ll update the ratings as we get updated data, but for now these are the quarterbacks that are leading the league in EQBR (Enhanced Quarterback Rating). And as usual, yes, of course we hate your team and your quarterback.
Please remember that these ratings are not supposed to be the Holy Grail of quarterback ratings, as there are other metrics that are just as good. EQBR is PFM’s proprietary metric for evaluating the play of quarterbacks and how much they are helping their team. Our scale is a simple 0-100 scale, with 100 being absolute perfect quarterback play.
And keep in mind, these rankings only include quarterbacks who have at least 100 pass attempts on the season. Feel free to let us know what you think on Twitter @ProFootball_Mag.
In PFM’s updated NFL QB Ratings, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford continues to remain our highest graded this season, despite being injured. This is because he obviously hasn’t done anything to hurt his grade during his time out. Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is our sixth ranked QB currently, however, that is a little misleading just because he hasn’t played nearly as much as the other QBs in the top 10. Tannehill does still qualify based on pass attempts, but take his rating with a grain of salt. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is our 14th ranked passer currently, which might seem a little high for a guy that’s thrown 20 interceptions. But if you take into account the fact that Winston is second in the league in air yards, and is averaging almost five yards per rushing attempt, it looks a little better.
